Field-Guide
The installation Field Guide for Western Europe, was featured
in Blickachsen
6 at the Kurpark, Bad Homburg. This collaboration
with the German poet Arne Rautenburg included cryptic crossword clues
in German, on the theme of birds, inscribed on nest
boxes. Field-Guide featuring twelve nest boxes is installed
as part of the award winning string
of pearls, Dysart (Fife). A postcard guide is available
from the visitor’s centre in the harbour. Other Field-Guide
installations are located at Yorkshire Sculpture Park (West Bretton)
and Campbell Park (Milton Keynes). A publication collecting together
Field-Guide and a new project featuring embedded clues on the names
of trees is currently in preparation.
credo
credo (paper-boat) was presented in Lincoln in June
as part of the Churches and Rivers Festivals. For credo Alec has adapted
Stevie Smith's famous line, ‘not waving but drowning’.
The project is open to anyone to contribute to. An animated version
of credo
is available. Credo duets, published as poem-cards, were given away
from three Churches; while, at the Rivers
Festival (June 9, 10), Alec collaborated with Alex Hodby
on an installation of credo poems floated on origami paper-boats.
If you would like to contribute to this credo then send a verse on
an A4 page with your name and address, or email
your contribution. |
