WWLB008. SKJOLDEN
The Wittgenstein Hut, Skjolden, Norway
Keeper: Guy Moreton
Status: Not yet installed.

Guide:
Leaving the Kro at Vassbaken with the waterfall behind you, follow the path to the wooden bridge, crossing the glacial water of the mountain beck.
Continue straight ahead and follow the track around to the left..
Arched by birch the first grey hut sits to the right.

Keep walking along the track...fields in front and to the left. Continue through the next field past a long wooden hut and bear right towards the trees and signpost ‘Wittgenstein’.
Through the forest a narrow path leads up to the ledge overlooking lake Eidsvatnet. Tread carefully. Damp and slippery mosses underfoot.

Down past Ludwig’s rocky harbour and over boulders. Under the canopy of trees look for the sprayed ‘W’. Find your way through the forest arch and bear right up a narrow and steep rocky path.
Arrive at the stone foundations of Ludwig’s house.
