For the Pearl Fishers
(2004)

The project was realised as one of a series of commissions for the River Tweed. It arose from my memory of what Hamish Henderson taught me about the tinker gypsies who fished for pearls on the Scottish rivers. Tim Neat acted as a go-between and I was able to purchase a beautiful natural river pearl from Eddie Fisher.
