BOUND WOUND (FOUR GRAFTS)

This artist project belongs within a series of recent works by Alec on the theme of wounded nature (along with Alien, Olive Oil Wall and The Black Tulip). Bound Wound features four traditional styles of graft (chip budding, whip and tongue, shield-budding, patch budding), applied to apple trees by the horticulturaist John Butterworth. The photographs are by Maris.
